KEIZER -- When Beth Jackson's brother-in-law died of a heroin overdose in 2003, she figured there ought to be a law to harshly punish those who put the drug in his arm.
When another brother-in-law died of an overdose in 2004, she found out there was indeed such a law. Last month, an assistant U.S. attorney in Portland employed a federal statute rarely used in Oregon to sentence three people to 10 years in prison for providing the drugs that killed Adam Burch, 19, Jackson's brother-in-law.

i get so mad after reading things like this. What ever happened to accountability of ones own actions? Too bad your brother died of heroine OD lady, but ever think that maybe it was HIS fault? Hell, lets jst sue Advil makers when John Doe OD's on Advil. Or wait why not just make it mandatory to have herione dealers put a lable on the bag of dope that says gives a fair warning so that people know that they are dealing with a dangerous drug...and while they are at it put the nutrition labels on it too.
stories like this make me want to shut the world out...maybe ill join an amish compound in PA. I hate this world.
On a lighter note, i ran a 8k race yesterday morning. It was fresh and beautiful out...well unless the rain is not that beautiful. It felt nice though while running. The race for me was a 'check point' for my race in Philly next month. Running for me is such a good way for me to spend time in a productive way with myself. I dont moap or frown while running. I think and ponder though. its a good time usually. Im shooting for a 1/2 marathon in the spring.
The Seahawks game was intense. It was the best one so far this year. And the Hawks actually pulled it off. Ill drink to that anyday! Also, I watched 'School of Scoundrals' yesterday! good flick! i give it two thumbs up...unlike Talladaga Nights, which was highly over rated.
